19th August 2021 - Message from the Belmont FC Chairman

Welcome back for the 2021/2022 season

The first games of the season commence this weekend and official training starts back the following week.

Obviously it has been a very strange year for us all with last season cut short. Thankfully we managed to get most of our age groups back playing over the summer and we look forward now to the new season.

For the coming season we are fielding 25 teams across the ages groups from U8 to U19 in the DDSL & Leinster League, including our now U14’s Girls team. In addition to that, we have a thriving Little Kickers academy including U6’s and U7’s. What makes our club tick is our fantastic managers and assistants all of whom are volunteers. If you are interested in helping and getting involved as a volunteer with the club in any capacity we would like to hear from you.

It’s great to see the high take up of the vaccine with adults and children but we still need to take Covid-19 very seriously. Our coaches and managers are working very closely with our Covid Compliance Officer, to ensure we are running our training sessions and matches safely and in compliance with the FAI Safe Return To Play Protocol and the HSE guidelines.

We will be commencing our registration process from next week. Brian Griffin (club treasurer) will be in touch when it’s up and running on the website.

In the meantime, I hope you and your children are enjoying the soccer and the sense of community at Belmont FC and I wish all of the teams a successful season ahead.

All the best,

Ciarán Cassidy
Belmont FC.
