About Belmont Football Club
Belmont FC has been providing boys and girls from the community of Donnybrook and its surrounds the opportunity to have fun through junior soccer for more than twenty years. Our players come from a variety of schools in the local area and we are always welcoming of newcomers, whatever their ability.
Great end to the 2017 season for the U8s
Our ethos is a child-centred one. While competition has an important contribution to make to the overall development of young people, it has to be balanced with fun, enjoyment and satisfaction along the way. At Belmont FC we strive to provide a safe, positive and encouraging atmosphere that allows our players to participate to their potential, irrespective of their abilities. We place emphasis on building lasting friendships, respect for others, and always playing in the right spirit. We subscribe to the view that fair play is a way of thinking, not just behaving.
During the 2018 season, commencing on 10th February 2018 through to early December 2018, Belmont FC will field teams in the under 8s to the under 18s sections of the South Dublin Football League (SDFL) and, for the first time, an under 19s team in the Leinster Football Association (LFA). Teams up to and including the u12s level play on Saturday mornings, while those playing at u13s and above play on Sunday mornings. The club will continue to host an Under 7s development squad in Herbert Park on Saturday mornings. In addition, “Belmont Kickers” is our football academy for children aged 4-5 years (on Jan 1st) and takes place every Saturday morning during school term whilst, from June onwards, those born in 2012 will move from the academy to our transitional “Kickers 6s” section in preparation for the 2019 Under 7s.
